Secretary cum Receptionist & Administrative/Finance Assistant

HIV/AIDS and STI Control Board -a Semi Autonomous Entity invites applications from qualified Nepali citizens for the positions of Administrative/Finance Assistant and Secretary cum Receptionist based in Kathmandu. The Board was established in August 2007 by the Government of Nepal with aim of developing appropriate policy, coordinating national response to HIV7AHDS epidemic and monitoring and evaluation of the responsibilities:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Financial and Administration Officer and CEO, Admin/ Finance Assistant will perform the following tasks:

• Prepare vouchers and process payments for all the financial transactions done at HIV/AIDS and STI Control Board (HSCB).
• Maintain complete sets of books of account according to the principles of accounting and update it on a daily basis. Also keep record of the disbursements made from HIV/AIDS and STI Control Board.
• Keep complete personnel files and records and supervise junior staff.
• Maintain vehicle log book, inventory of office supplies and put in place proper internal control system and ensure the maintenance of a filing system.
• Keep records of non Expendable equipment (NEE), conduct physical verification at least once a year and prepare report on annual physical verifications of NEE to be submitted to HSCB.
• Assist and facilitate audit as well as internal audit conducted by HSCB.
• Keep abreast of the financial regulations of the Government regarding the taxation and ensure the compliance.
• Manage all correspondence related to administration and finance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and CEO.


QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, management of Business Administration; with at least three years experience in finance and administration;
• Computer skills (Excel, Word and Power Point)) is necessary;
• Working experiences of accounting and reporting with Government, INGOs, Donor agencies and UN systems will have added benefits.

Duty Station: Kathmandu

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Financial and Administration officer or CEO, Secretary cum Receptionist will perform the following tasks:

• Handling visitors at the reception.
• Knowledge of EPBAX system operation would be an added advantage.
• Receiving and sending Emails, internet surfing.
• Attending incoming and Outgoing calls.
• Maintaining information and documentation.
• Secretarial Support including mailing or dispatching of letters, general correspondence, filling.
• Coordinating meetings, appointments.
• Help in other office works as assigned by supervisor, Financial and Administration Assistant.


QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Have at least 10+2 or equivalent level certificate.
• At least one year experience in the field as a Secretary cum Receptionist.
• Should have typing skills both in English and Nepali.
• Should be familiar with MS-Office package, internet surfing and Email.

Post: Water Supply And Sanitation Engineer – 1

The Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Fund Development Board (the Board) is facilitating a community-based Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Program funded by Government of Nepal and the World Bank. The focus of the Program is to facilitate rural communities for sustainable water supply service delivery through demand-driven approach and participatory decision making process by empowering communities to implement their water supply and sanitation schemes with the assistance of the Board.

The Board invites qualified individuals to apply for the following posts:

Post: Water Supply And Sanitation Engineer – 1

TERMS OF REFERENCE: The incumbent is responsible for quality control in terms of WSUG/SOs procurement of materials. S/he also assists in monitoring and submissions of receipts and invoices for materials by SOs/communities, and checks cost estimates against actual procurement to see if purchases are within reasonable facsimile of the approved design estimates. The engineer assists in the documentation of technical aspects of projects, and participates in portfolio management.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: Bachelors degree in Civil or Water Supply or Sanitary or Environmental engineering from a recognized university.

WORK EXPERIENCE: S/he must have at least 5 (five) years work experience relevant to the assignment of rural water supply and sanitation programs or rural development including at least 2 (two) years work experience in projects with demand led participatory approaches.

DUTY STATION: These are Kathmandu Valley based posts. All post holders will be required to undertake extensive traveling to districts outside Kathmandu Valley.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: The initial term of employment will be 3 (three) years on contract basis (including probation period of first six months) with possibility of extension on satisfactory performance. Other terms and conditions of employment will be as per the Board Rules. The candidate selected for appointment must submit a letter of approved resignation from the previous employer if the individual is employed at another organization.


Applicants must not be convicted of any criminal case of moral turpitude and must not be affiliated with any political party. They must not be a relative of any of the Board members and the Board employees. They must include a statement to these effects in their applications. Those who are Government employees and civil servants of government-owned universities, academic and research institutes and any other government organizations will not be eligible to apply. The applicant should not be above 50 years of age.


SELECTION PROCEDURE: Only candidates meeting the minimum qualification and experience will be evaluated applying various screening measures as per the requirement or the experience relevant to the assignment. Undue influence will result in automatic rejection.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Eligible candidates are required td'-apply with, a copy of succinctly written CV, copies of citizenship, qualification and training certificates and employment records and a passport size photo by the 23 January, 2009.

The CV should distinctly show the number of years of previous relevant experience and the tasks performed emphasizing the applicants' own contributions/achievements. Documentary evidence of the relevant experience is essential.
